Last week we went out and promoted Korfball at two of Eastern Florida State College’s beautiful campuses here on the Space Coast! Their Club Rush event allows existing and future student clubs to promote their activities and recruit new members, so that’s what we did!

Thank you to everybody who took the time to stop by and give Korfball a shot – we hope to see you soon at our weekly Korfball club sessions!

With some upcoming promotional events, a coaching class and plans to host a Korfball tournament here on the Space Coast in beautiful Florida, we made it our mission to visit various parks with our equipment to make sure we find the ideal spots to play Korfball!
This week we visited Viera Regional Park, which is home to a big mixed sports complex and a multi purpose field we found very promising! Definitely a location we liked!

Yes, that ceiling is tall enough!

We have lots of plans to help korfball grow roots here in Florida’s Space Coast area. Finding a suitable location for local teams to practice and play, but also for hosting other korfball enthusiasts from across the United States and internationally, led us to visit several of Brevard County’s well equipped community centers.

With our many beautiful city and county parks, beaches and community facilities, the opportunities seem endless! We are confident that we will find our spot and begin hosting weekly korfball sessions soon.

Visitors from the Netherlands – A Cocoa Village Korfball Morning

The IOC World Games drew a lot of international visitors to the United States, some of them stayed to explore the country on their own after the competitions were over. So did Kees Vlietstra, assistant head coach of the Dutch national team, and his two sons.
During their road trip along the East Coast they visited our beautiful Space Coast, so we took the opportunity, set up the korfs in Riverfront Park and met with them one Monday morning!

Does this make you curious? Follow us on Facebook to find out about upcoming Korfball events or send us a message and we will find a day and time to come out and shoot some baskets!

Korfball at the IOC World Games 2022

The IOC World Games took place in Birmingham, AL this year, so we packed the car and went on a road trip to see eight of the world’s best teams compete for a gold medal!
But watching the best of the best in action was not all what this trip was for us – We also met tons of other Korfball enthusiasts, the US team that won the 1985 bronze medal, played a bit ourselves and had some very productive brainstorming sessions, planning Korfball activities together with other motivated Korfball friends from other states (and the Netherlands)!

It was an awesome, very motivating week that went by way too fast!

We need you!

Korfball doesn’t exist YET in the Florida Space Coast area. We want to change that, but we need you!

Do you already live and love Korfball? Completely new to it? Need a reason to get out and meet new people? Maybe you’ve played basketball in the past? — Meet a mixed gender team sport you will like right off the bat!

If you are interested – get in touch with us! We are looking to start a group, right here on the Space Coast, fresh from scratch.

Hope to see you soon!
